STOTT Pilates Certified Instructor Trainer
Tania Serrano is a long-time Pilates teacher and instructor trainer. She teaches Pilates at the International Training Center of STOTT Pilates in Toronto, Canada and works with her private clients across the city. Lately her passion extends to understanding the anatomical body at a deeper level. In February 2018 she completed a full body dissection course through the Anatomy Trains Organization in the USA where she was able to get a true picture of the fascial tissues and explore how these tissues affect how we move. After performing the dissection with Anatomy Trains, Tania now brings this knowledge back to her students when, teaching the STOTT Pilates Functional Anatomy course.
Her private clientele range from desk jockeys to competitive athletes, including dancers, Iron man participants, endurance cyclists, to members of the medical community including physiotherapists and general practitioners. She believes that there is always something to learn from every body and that the diversity of clients over the last ten years nurtures and inspires the perpetual student within. She will be attending her second dissection course with the Anatomy Trains program in January 2019.
Tania found Pilates after experiencing sciatic nerve impingement during the third trimester of pregnancy of her lovely daughter, who is now 16. This method of movement not only helped to rehabilitate her low back pain but helped her feel connected in in her body. The change was so incredible that in 2008 she took the plunge to embark on the teacher training program at STOTT Pilates.
Currently Tania splits her time between teaching private clients and instructing new teachers through the education program at STOTT Pilates. She can also be found online as part of the Pivot Physiotherapy Strong Dancer expert team.
